Abstract

Generation Z, who grew up in the digital era, faces various mental health challenges, such as anxiety and depression, which are exacerbated by the influence of social media. This research aims to explore the role of community counseling in supporting the mental health of this generation. Through a literature review, it was found that community counseling plays an important role in overcoming the social isolation and psychological distress experienced by Generation Z. This counseling provides effective social support and helps develop coping skills and digital literacy, enabling teenagers to manage the negative impacts of technology. Technology-based counseling is also a flexible solution to reach more individuals without geographic limitations. The research results show that the integration of community-based counseling with digital literacy and stress management is very relevant in supporting mental health in an era that is increasingly connected virtually. Community counseling has the potential to be a holistic solution capable of responding effectively to the mental health needs of Generation Z.
