Abstract

Early childhood education is a coaching effort and is aimed at children from birth to six years of age, which is carried out through providing educational stimuli to help physical and spiritual growth and development so that children are ready to enter further education. The implementation of this program often faces obstacles, both internal and external. The most frequent internal obstacle is a lack of budget which can hinder the smooth running of activities and external obstacles namely where the children's parents are indifferent to the program activities carried out in the kindergarten. I love reading program to improve reading skills. The data in this research was collected through interviews and observations using qualitative methods. The "I Love Reading Books" program at Kindergarten Pembina 1 Medan shows good potential in improving children's literacy skills. However, to achieve more optimal results, concrete steps are needed such as increasing the budget, providing adequate resources, and training for teachers. This research can be concluded that this program has significant potential in increasing reading interest and literacy skills in early childhood. . The observed increase in children's interest in reading and literacy skills after implementing the program shows that with the right approach, children can be encouraged to develop good reading habits.
